It's a Challenge

With Reid being the only child he is not the best at sharing his mama, his toys or his chair. This is something we have really been working on, but when he doesn't have a friend over that often it is hard to teach him.

Today Victoria had some things to do so I watched Claire for a bit. I always enjoy it, because it gives Reid an opportunity to learn and share. They are together every Wed and Sunday at church, but it is different being at church. When you are around your own stuff it is harder for him to share.

The morning didn't start out that great; everything Claire took, Reid wanted. If Claire came to close to Reid, he would put his hand up to block her and sometimes try and kick her. Of course this makes me furious. I think he should be sweet to her like she is to him. She loves him and just wants to play.

If Claire would sit next to him on the couch he would get up and move or try and block her from getting next to him. After disciplining him half the morning he finally turned the corner.

I caught them sitting in the same chair together "his chair" at that and reading a book and then they were actually playing together was his blocks. I know Reid has a long way to go, but maybe after spending a week together at the beach maybe he will be better.

Excuse the room this is Reid's new playroom that we have enclosed and still working on. Also, Reid mainly has girls to play with and I thought it was so funny he was trying to put on Claire's headband. His daddy won't be happy about this picture, but I thought it was funny.

I did manage to take some sweet pictures of them playing and them making up.

No Fear

We have had a great summer day. We started off with watching cartoons in bed with Reid. I cooked breakfast while Reid and his daddy spent some time together. Reid always thinks it is a treat when he can get in bed with us. We had breakfast in bed and then got ready to go and spend some time at the pool. It was a perfect morning.

We went to Victoria's sisters house and swam in their pool today and yesterday. I didn't have my camera or video yesterday, but I knew after watching him yesterday I had to take it today.

Reid is now swimming with his arm floaties and not his ring and he is going down the slide like he has no fear in the world. He will slide down that slide the whole time and go under like he is a big boy. The water does not bother him at all. He stays in the water the whole time. He loves it. He doesn't mind going under and doesn't even get choked up. I was so proud for his daddy to see him swim today. I had tried the arm floaties at the beginning of the summer and it made me too nervous, but yesterday I tried them again and he did great. I love that he can slide down the slide, go under and then swim over to the ladder to do it all over again.

Claire is still not a fan of the water. She would rather sit on the side and watch. She is Reid's biggest cheerleader. She will just have to be our bathing beauty. She is naturally tanned and is so pretty. You can see from the video below she did not love the slide.

We had a great day and now Reid is taking a great nap. Enjoy the pictures and video from today. I promised his Mimi I would record our day at the pool.

Memorial Weekend

We went to North Ms and to Collierville, TN for Memorial weekend. We had a great time visiting with family. We spent the night at my parents house on Thursday night and then headed to see Granny on Friday. Granny was in a great mood and told us all about having 8 children and I love that all 8 still live close by. I think that says a lot about her and her family. I love that I married into such a wonderful family.

On Friday night Kay's side of the family came over and we had a great time visiting with them. Reid only got in trouble a few times, but overall he did good. Saturday night Justin and I went out on a date; we went to eat and to the movies. It is always so strange to be out without Reid. Living away from family it is hard to leave him behind and just spend time with Justin.

Sunday we went back to my parents and from there we took the boat out. It was so hot, but so much fun. I am glad we got to spend the day with our nephew Blake. Reid and Blake played on the boat and then Blake knocked out in his Mimi's lap and took a nap. Of course Reid never stops long enough to sleep. Reid loved feeling the wind in his face.

It was a great visit.... Can't wait to do it again

Happy Mother's Day

We have had a great day today. I love being a mom and I love being celebrated each year. Last year we dedicated Reid to the Lord. I really thought about that a lot today. I pray I am doing my best to raise Reid to love the Lord. That was my prayer today as I prayed over Reid that God would give me the wisdom to raise him with God always getting the glory.

After church and naps Justin and Reid went swimming. Reid has a new swim ring we are trying this year and he is doing great. I think by the end of the summer he will not need any assistance. He is doing so good and loves to splash his daddy and he loves to keep his tongue in the water. All he wants to do is drink the water.

I am praying today for all those women who have lost a baby or have not conceived. I pray that your heart will be comforted today.
