My Kind of Day

We have had a very relaxing day today. Despite the fact that I had to put my car in the shop today we are still having a great day. We decided to let Reid skip his nap today and go outside and play. The weather is beautiful here today.

We blew up Reid's pool and got it ready. I knew he would love it and he did. He had so much fun playing in the pool with his daddy while I enjoyed relaxing beside it. We love the water and we think Reid loves it too.

I love the close up profile pictures I got of Reid. I think they might be my new favorite pictures of him. Justin says he looks like his brother Steve in these pictures. I see the resemblance too.

Justin and Reid are going to have some father/son time this weekend. I am going to our church for a Priscilla Shirer simulcast and I can't wait. She is such a great leader and teacher.

Future Golfer

Justin and I both love to play golf. However, that does not mean we are very good at it, but we do love to play. Now that we have a baby we certainly do not get to play as often as we would like. I am hoping that will change next year. Reid will be old enough then to get out and play with us and hopefully mind a little better.

I hope Reid will love to play golf like his mommy and daddy. I often think about on Saturday morning Reid and his daddy leaving to go play golf and have a father son day. Here are a few pictures of Reid's first time learning to play. At this point he would rather pick the golf balls up and play with them instead of swinging the club.

Spring Day with Sprinklers

We had a great day today. We started out by going to church this morning. I wanted to take some pictures of Reid since this is the outfit my friend Pam made for him. I feel like it is ofically Spring here so it was time for him to wear his first Spring outfit. It was 80 degrees here today and this weather has me ready for mine and Justin's get away to the beach in a few more weeks.

One of Reid's new favorite things to do is to put his hands on our face. He will stick his fingers up your nose if you are not careful or he will put his fingers in your eyes. I think he might like this because we have been practicing learning his eyes and nose this week. It was hard to get a picture with him this morning because all he wanted to do was put his hands on my face and then he wanted to kiss. I love that boy.

After nap today we decided to let Reid burn some energy by running through the sprinkler in the back yard. He wasn't real sure about it, but he loves water and he was determined he was going to get wet. I think he will like it much better when it is warmer outside. I wanted to post these pictures since this was the first time Reid got in the sprinkler so I can look back at the end of summer and see if he likes it even more. I think I will get out and play in it also when the temps are 100 like they normally are here in the summer.

Some of his faces in these pictures are priceless. I loved capturing his facial expressions in these pictures.. looking back over these pictures I feel like I could have named this post Granddaddy's twin. Reid is still looking just like his Granddaddy to me.

Happy Birthday

Today is my birthday and I wanted to be a little sad about it for some reason. But, I was able to put things in perspective really quick. When I turned 30, I cried because I was unmarried and had no children and thought now this is not how I had planned 30 would be like. I thought I would be married with children, but God had a better plan for me. So instead of being depressed today I was reminded how blessed I am to have a wonderful husband and an amazing son. God has blessed me more than I could have ever imagined. As I type this I can hear Reid over the monitor talking away and I am again reminded that I have so many blessings in life.

Not only has God blessed me with a wonderful family he has blessed me with some wonderful friends. Some of my friends got together and threw me a small birthday party. We got a sitter and headed over to Kim's house. I had a great time and enjoyed a night out.

From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another. John 1:16
