I am so behind in posting. I still want and need to do a birthday post for Reid plus in the middle of all of this I went home for a week while my daddy had knee surgery. So, I have a lot to catch up on.
Today we had an ultrasound done to see our sweet Meg. It was so fun to see her moving around waving at us and even when she showed off her pouty lips. I can't wait to kiss those sweet lips of hers. I love looking at her profile. I could stare at it all day.
She is weighing 1lb 1oz and she looks great.
Because of my age we went to see a high risk dr today to check for down syndrome, trisomy 18 and spinal biffida. Unfortunately on the ultra sound they showed a calcium deposit on one of her chambers in her heart. This is what they call (ICEF) Intracardiac Echogenic Focus and normally this would not be a big deal for most pregnant women, but with my age and the blood work that I had done the risk is increased for downs. Fortunately the risk is small and they call it just an increased risk, but it was enough to knock the wind out of me and it made me want to get on my knees right there and start praying. I have cried on and off all day today, but I do believe she will be fine and even if she isn't we will love her know matter what.
Justin always kids me about being a rebel or being mean and on the way home I told him you think I am mean now wait until someone says something about my child. That would send me over the edge. I know how mean people can be when it comes to things like that, but we are choosing to believe that God is in control and he will work this out for us know matter what.
I asked Justin how do you turn it over to God and stop worrying. I know I am suppose to trust and have faith and I claim that I do, but Lord I am still trying to give it ALL to you.
We will go back in 8 weeks and have another ultrasound then and at that time we will decide if we will do an amniocentesis.
I am so glad to know that our baby girl is already loved by so many and so many of you are praying for us right now. I know you never know what to say when you hear news like this, but two of my favorite things I was told today was.
our pastors wife sent me this and oh how true it is
Philippians 4:6-7
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus
and my other favorite was Justin's friend Lance when he told him the news his reply was
Will definitely pray. She's normal in God's eyes no matter what her make up is!!!!!
once again how true that is.. in Genesis it says God created us in his image. I will take peace in that....

18 weeks
I was 18 weeks on Monday and we also had a doctor's appointment. Meg had all of her organs measured and everything was perfect. Each time we have had an ultrasound her little ankles are always crossed and she is always moving around. With Reid he hardly moved; maybe that is why he was such a good sleeper from the beginning. We may be in trouble with Meg she is so rowdy already.
Monday night I was laying in bed eating some cheese and I finally started feeling her move. I felt her like 6 times in a row. It was such a wonderful feeling. Also, on Monday I realized I am finally showing.
Meg's due date is Jan 2, but the doctor and I have agreed if all things are favorable we will get to meet Meg on Dec 21, so that we could be home right before Christmas. I feel like a kid again just counting down the days until Christmas gets here. It will be so neat this year; for one I will be able to stay home for Christmas instead of traveling. I will be able to have my parents here and Justin's parents here. I love that we will all be together at our house. I have been getting catalogs in the mail with Christmas trees on the front and it makes me think about how excited I am going to be to meet this sweet girl of mine.
I have a busy week ahead of me. Reid will be 2 in 7 more days and I am getting ready for his Toy Story party. Can't believe how fast my baby is growing up. My mom reminded me last night that Reid is not a baby anymore, but I just can not accept that yet.

Sneak Peek
Here is a sneak peak of Meg's bedding. I love adding pink accents to her room. We go back to the doctor on Monday, I sure hope it is still a girl. We will be blessed either way.
Victoria brought me Claire's newborn clothes and smocked dresses today and I am so thankful for all of these beautiful clothes that she and Angela are letting me use. Reid and I walked into Meg's room today and I said Reid who's room is this and he said baby.
Can't wait to see Meg on Monday; will post some pictures of her after the doctors visit.

Week at the beach
We spent the last week in Perdido, Fl and we had a blast. We stayed with our friends the Waltman's and Sullivan's. It is so fun to go with friends to the beach. There was never a dull moment. Reid loves to swim and play at the beach. Thank goodness I have a baby that loves the sun, water and sand. I can't wait till next year when Meg can come too.
We were able to see some of Justin's cousins, aunt and uncle while we were there.
They were there on their vacation also. That was a nice treat.
Each family was responsible for providing one meal that week and let me tell you the food did not disappoint. We ate good every night. I even got a new recipe out of the deal, enchiladas. They were so good. I can't wait to make them for Justin and I.
I need to post this just so I can remember the night that wasn't to be. I have been so fortunate that since Reid was 4 weeks old he has slept through the night. We had our own room at the beach and the closet was so big that we were able to put Reid in his pack n play in the closet. We would leave one door open, but he could push the other door open when he would wake up and he could see us. He slept great every night until the last night. He woke up at 2am and did not go back to sleep until 5:30. He cried on and off the entire time. I was so frazzled because I did not want him to wake up the other people in the condo. Justin even went out on the balcony to try and get him to settle down. Nothing was working. At one point I asked Justin to take him to the car and put him in his car seat and let them both just sleep in the car. Of course Justin didn't do that, but I was getting desperate. Finally he fell asleep at 5:30 this morning. I was exhausted. I have always wanted Reid to sleep with me, well I can tell you I am over that now. He wanted to sleep on top of me with his arms around my neck. Of course I let him, but that meant no sleep for me. It did make for some great cuddling once he went to sleep.
We are home now and trying to get settled back in our routine. I am glad Reid has his bed back.
Sorry for the picture overload, but I want to remember our trip to the beach.

Meg
Here is Meg's first picture on my blog. Meg is 14 weeks in this picture. I love her sweet profile. Of course I had to add a picture of Reid also. Reid's shirt says Little Fire Cracker and that is no lie. He is a handful these days, but at night he is the best snuggle buddy.
Reid is loving his alphabet right now and every time we lay him on his changing table he looks up at his name and calls out his letters. I love to hear him say his letters.

It's A
GIRL!!!!!!!! Her name will be Meg... Margaret E .. we aren't sure what the E will be yet.
We found out on Wednesday that we are having a girl this Christmas. We are beyond thrilled. I can't believe I have a boy and now a girl. When the ultrasound lady said it was a girl I just started crying. I couldn't believe that God had given me the desires of my heart. It is times like this that I get mad at myself for doubting God. God is bigger than me and he knew the plan all along. I needed to have faith. It is well with my soul. Like my daddy said... "Your family is complete". That is exactly how I feel.
We have known since we got pregnant that once we found out what we were having that we would have a gender reveal party. So tonight some of our closest friends came over. If you thought it was a girl you needed to wear pink and if a boy wear blue.
After everyone got here we let Reid walk out of the bedroom with a pink ball. Of course he didn't want to cooperate. He wanted to stay in the bedroom and throw the ball so I ended up pushing the ball out of the room. Everyone just screamed. I am so excited that God has blessed me with a boy and now a girl.
I looked at Justin tonight and said I can buy a baby doll now. He said YEP. I want to use it so that Reid can start understanding that mommy is going to have a baby. We pointed at my stomach tonight and said Reid what is in mommy's belly and he said baby.
We were so blessed that so many friends came out to support us tonight. Here are some pictures and video from tonight.
Proud Parents in our pink and blue
Our boy and girl names we had picked out
Everyone that thought it was going to be a boy
All the people that were right... Pink was the color of the night
This is the ball that Reid showed everyone to let them know that he is a big brother to a sister
Everyone's reaction
