Ordination

This weekend was very special for our family. Justin was being ordained as a deacon here at First Baptist Church Pascagoula. With this honor came a lot of nerves, humility, honor, and happiness. Those of you that know Justin, know how shy he is and if someone ever told him he had to speak and tell his testimony in front of the congregation at church; knows that Justin would say nope not me. I am not doing that. Well I am proud to say that when Justin found out that being a deacon not only meant being there spiritually for our church, being a leader, but also speaking in front of the church. And I am proud to say that HE DID IT!!!!! Justin gave his testimony in front of the deacon counsel Sunday afternoon and then came and gave it to the church congregation Sunday night.

Everyone that was there was so nervous for Justin. We all really weren't sure he would be able to do it and if he did get the nerve up to do it; we all thought he might faint while he was speaking. My arm pits were sweating so bad and I could feel the heat coming off my chest and neck because you would have thought I was the one giving the testimony. He had to take several deep breaths and his voice was cracking but he managed to get through it. Not only did he get through it, but he made his family, friends and congregation so proud. He thanked his mother and daddy for a great Christian home he was brought up in, he thanked the church (this is his home church he grew up in) he thanked his friend Daniel for witnessing to him as a young boy, he brought up his friend Pope (that is where we met at Pope's house), he thanked me for supporting him and loving him and he thanked the Lord for Reid. Everyone was crying we were so proud. Have I said yet how proud we are!!!!! ha

One of the nice things for Justin was that he was being honored along side one of his best friends Lance Waltman. Justin said in his testimony how special it was that he was being honored with his friend Lance. Then Lance gave his testimony and thanked his parents, sister and brother in law and his wife and that is when the water works began. I was so shocked that Lance cried, but truly it was such an emotional night and we were so proud of these two.

After the testimonies the other ordained deacons came and laid hands on each of the men and prayed with them and with us.

Justin was very glad that his friend Daniel and Pope were there for this special night. Here are a few pictures from the night. (sorry Lance if you are reading this that I had to post the ugly cry you had) We told Justin that we couldn't believe he didn't cry and typical Justin made us all laugh when he said "I was to nervous to cry".

Bath Time

Reid loves bath time and here lately he cries when it is time to get him out. His hair is so wild... I love when he sits; he likes to cross his legs. Look in the pictures at his little ankles crossed. So cute...

Have a good day

New Years Eve

We went over to Lance and Victoria's for New Years Eve and had a very low key evening. I think we all needed that after all the traveling we have done for the holidays.

We are all having a good time watching the kids play now that they can both walk and have very much there own personality. Claire has always loved Reid and would love all over him and want to play but Reid on the other hand prefers the older children. He actually did better this time playing with Claire.

They had a good time playing with all of Claire's new toys she got for Christmas. We had a good time talking about our upcoming trip to Disney. We leave in 5 weeks
and everyone is so excited.

The big debate we are having in our house is to cut Reid's hair or to not cut Reid's hair. As you can see in the pictures his hair is wild and very unmanageable. I am afraid once I cut it the curls will be gone.

Here are some pictures from our night. Impossible to get both kids to look and smile at the camera at the same time. ha

Happy New Year

Hope everyone has a happy New Year. 2010 was a great year and I am sad to see it go. I hope 2011 will be half as good as 2010 was for us. I am feeling so blessed tonight to have a wonderful husband and a healthy 16 1/2 month old. God is so good!!!!!

Here are a few pics we took before we left to go celebrate the coming of a new year.

We snapped the picture ourself

The flash was too bright for him but I still thought it was a cute picture

Doesn't he look so grown up???? (Looks just like his granddaddy in this picture to me)

Ps. Laurie my lipstick won't stay on. I tried everything you said... boo

Christmas (better late than never)

We have had a wonderful Christmas holiday. We are very blessed to have two sets of wonderful parents who spoil us and spoil Reid so much. We are also very blessed that we are able to spend time with both our families each holiday. I don't know what I would do if we had to rotate them. I think I would be devastated if I couldn't see my mama on each holiday.

We spend the first part of the week at my parents and then the second half with Justin's family. On Christmas Eve we always go to Granny's and eat a wonderful lunch and then exchange gifts with the children. Reid seemed to enjoy it much better now that he is walking he can go wherever he wants, but it made it hard on us chasing him everywhere. By the time is was time to exchange gifts Reid was asleep in his daddy's arms and missed all the excitement. I know next year will be so fun for Reid. He will be in there with all those excited kids just waiting on his present. Out of Granny's 75 people 69 were there. It is hard to believe it was that many people there for Christmas. The great thing about that is most of them come back every Sunday for Sunday lunch after church. I couldn't have married into a better family. They are a wonderful Christian family and makes everyone feel right at home.

This was the first year I have every been away from my mama for Christmas morning. We decided we would stay in Collierville since they were predicting snow. We really wanted to have the white Christmas and I went back and forth with this decision for three days trying to figure out what was the right or the best thing to do. Ultimately we decided to stay in Tn and guess what it didn't snow but it DID snow at my mama's house. So it was a big laugh when it was all said and done. We made the wrong decision, but we were able to get there early Christmas morning and was also able to enjoy the snow.

Reid wasn't into Christmas to much this year. I am hoping next year he will be so excited. My two nieces Emily and Sarah Kate were so excited for Santa to come. We made cookies the night before and we had the best time. Those girls are so sweet and I love them so much.

Here are some pictures from Christmas week, Christmas Eve, Christmas morning and a few days later.
