Paci

I think Meg's paci is going to be the death of me. She loves it. I think Love may be an understatement. It is like her right arm. She NEEDS it all the time. The only way she is happy is if she has her paci. When she is deep asleep is the only time she doesn't want it. At this point I wish she would just suck her thumb. She is making it hard on this mama. She also does not like to lay flat so she is in her vibrating chair most all day. She doesn't like the swing either. We are using a nap nanny now and she does ok in that (as long as she has her paci).

We don't believe she has colic or reflux; we just think she loves the paci. Right now I hate pictures with her paci because it is as big as her face. So these pictures were taken very fast; because she was on the edge of tears.

She still sleeps most all day and is eating 3 ounces every 4 hours. She is still wearing newborn clothes and newborn diapers. Meg was 6 weeks yesterday. Reid still ignores her for the most part.

Reid has become a little parrot lately. He loves for us to mock every move he makes and he will also repeat any word we tell him to say. He is doing great in school. This will be my first whole week alone since we had Meg. I am praying everything goes as smooth as it has been.

Me and mom still think she looks just like my baby pictures.

Meg is one month old

Meg is one month old today

Time is flying by. I will say she isn't as easy as Reid was but we are adjusting. I am learning that she must have her paci 24/7 and that she likes to be wrapped up. She is eating 3 ounces every 4 hours and 5 hour stretches at night. Because she depends on her paci so much she wakes up a lot at night when it falls out; so she is sleeping with me right now. I know it is a bad habit but that is how we are managing to get sleep right now.

At her 2 week appointment she was up to 7lbs 4 oz. At birth she was 6lbs 5 oz.

Reid still doesn't have much to do with her. He will sit next to me while I hold her, but doesn't want to really touch her. He is being a great big brother though and helps by throwing her diapers away for me. He just needs to learn to wait sometimes. When he wants something he doesn't understand if I am feeding Meg he needs to wait till I finish. He started school and that seems to be going well and I am hoping that will help him learn to be more patient.

Carrie Hall took her newborn pictures this weekend and this is one of the proofs. I can't wait till we get them back. If you are local and want someone great to take your pictures I recommend her. She was very easy to work with.

I go to school

Reid is growing up so fast. He got a back pack for Christmas so that he could wear it when he started school. When he would wear the back pack and ask him where he is going he says "I go to school".

Today was Reid's first day of school and his granddaddy went with me to take him. We were all so excited for him. I was worried I would get upset, but I was just so proud for him today and what this new adventure will be for him.

When granddaddy and I went to pick him up we could see him outside on the playground and we road the block twice just watching him play. He wasn't crying so we thought and hoped it must have gone well. The teacher said he got a little tearful a few times but overall he did good.

My parents are here with me this week helping me and I so appreciate it. We have a lot of appointments this week and having my mom to stay here and watch Meg has been so helpful.

here are some pictures of our boy before school this morning

My babies

Reid still doesn't have much to do with Meg, but he does love to look at her.

He always goes and looks in on her in her bassinet. Today I was able to catch a few pictures of him looking.

He starts school in two weeks and I was hoping he would wear his backpack in like a big boy. The first time I tried to get him to wear it he wouldn't. Today he wore it with no problem. I can't wait for school to start. I hope he will enjoy it.

Every ultra sound we had (which was a lot) Meg's ankles were always crossed.  Here she is with them crossed again. This is her favorite way to lay.
