Beach and good friends

last post for tonight

I left for the beach on Thursday night after Reid's graduation; to meet up with my friends from Memphis.  It has been awhile since we had a girls trip.  It was so relaxing and I had the best time.  I was so worried about Reid while I was gone and how he was going to sleep in his big boy bed, but thankful at the same time that I wouldn't be home to hear him cry it out while he was getting use to his bed.  It is hard on a mama's heart.

Justin called me Friday morning and asked how I was doing and said I haven't gotten up and chased after a child yet.  It was so fun to just visit with friends and read magazines and just have girl time.

Meg is 5 months

Meg has doubled in size in the last month. She is getting the fat cheeks like Reid had. Both of my babies started out so small, but they have quickly gained weight. I love a juicy baby. Meg has more fat rolls on her bottom than I have ever seen. It is so funny. She is nothing like Reid was as a baby. I guess I am getting my payback like everyone said. Reid slept all night from day one and Meg is still waking up every 4 hours to eat. Thankfully though she goes right back to sleep as soon as she is done eating.

She had her first cold so we took her to be checked and thankfully everything was clear. She weighs 13 lbs and 13 oz. She is eating 6 oz every 4 hours and we have started her on cereal and eating her green vegetables. She is still getting control of her tounge so the eating is very slow. She is wearing 3 to 6 month clothes and she is about to move up to size 2 diapers. She likes to try and sit alone, but she still isn't steady enough.

My graduate

A lot has been going on at our house this past week. Reid climbed out of his crib, he graduated from his 2 year old program at school and I left him with Justin, Pop and Kay-K while I spent a long weekend at the beach. Thankfully it only took Reid two nights to get use to his bed. The two nights it took though were pretty bad. He cried and banged his head for about 2 hours the first night. Justin ended up going and laying down with him until he fell asleep. Then he came back to bed. The second night I was at the beach but thankfully he only cried and kicked and banged around for 45 minutes and then crawled up in his bed and went to sleep. I was so thankful and proud of him. We have pulled an extra twin bed out of the attic for him to use for now. His Kay-K bought Reid a Thomas the Train bed set and Reid has loved it. Eventually we will turn his old crib into a full bed and make his room a big boy room. I am just not ready; time is going by too fast.

Thursday night before I left for the beach Reid had his graduation and he did so good. I was afraid he would see us in the audience and want to come sit with us or that he wouldn't sit on the stage, but he did great. He was the best behaved out of his entire class. I couldn't believe it. Two of the girls kept pulling up their dresses and one little girl kept crawling off and one boy cried the entire time so his mom came and got him. I was so proud of Reid. We have come along way. Here are some pictures unfortunately they are a little out of order.

Sick babies

Our house is full of sick babies. Reid has a cold and an ear infection and Meg is sick with her first cold. This started Wed night when Reid woke up crying from his bed at 1 am. He never wakes up and wants us, but he was calling me from his bed, but fell asleep about 10 minutes later then 2 am he was up screaming and crying for me again. 10 minutes later he fell back to sleep. 3 am he was up screaming and crying daddy. This time Justin and I were both up feeding Meg and Justin said this is breaking my heart; so I went and got him. All he wanted to do was lay on top of me in the bed or have his face laying on my face. Needless to say we didn't go back to sleep until 6 that morning. Thursday he seemed himself so I thought no big deal just a fluke and then Friday morning after he woke up I went in his room to get him and there was blood everywhere. He had dried blood on his face, the sheets, the bumper his covers everything. It freaked me out. Apparently he had his first nose bleed ever. So we called the doctor and got him an appointment. Doctor said he had a ear infection and the blood was from all the mucus. He had a mild fever yesterday, but seems normal today.

Now Meg is sick, she is coughing and sneezing a lot. I hope she will shake this soon. Meg is already sitting up for a minute, she rolls both ways. She seems so much more advanced than Reid was, but she has filled out like Reid was. She has the big cheeks and big blue eyes.

Here are a few pictures from our week. The quality isn't great. I took these with my cell phone

Reid loves his sister. This was before we were all sick

Anything to make him happy right??

We learned our lesson with Reid. Swaddle broke, nap nanny broke. Sleeping on her back. Now if she would just sleep all night
