2 Years Old

We took Reid to his "well" visit Friday and we found out he had a double ear infection. One thing about Reid is we never know if he is sick. He never runs fever and he never stops playing long enough to complain about his ears. This is his 3rd ear infection since birth. We have been so lucky in the "sick" department. He stays pretty well.

Reid weighs 32 lbs which is 90th percentile and was 35 inches tall which is the 75th percentile. He still doesn't talk much but he knows all the letters of the alphabet and almost all of his numbers 1-10. He is obsessed right now with an encyclopedia book of animals. He flips every page and says whats that and when he gets to the pig he makes a pig noise every time and when he sees the zebra he calls it a Z. I think he does that because when he was learning his letters he knew Z was for Zebra. We have the circus coming up in another week and we can't wait to take him and let him see the animals. He is pretty much true to size he wears mostly size 2t clothes, size 4 diaper and size 7 shoe.

The biggest problem we have right now is that Reid still doesn't eat table food. The only table food he eats is turkey sausage and vanilla yogurt and blueberry muffins. He will eat all kinds of snacks such as graham crackers, veggie straws, vanilla waffers, teddy grahams and cheerios. We talked to the doctor about this and he said stop the snacks pretty much and start pushing the table food. We have been trying to get him to eat a grilled cheese since Friday night and here it is Sunday night and we still haven't had any luck. He only had a piece of sausage Saturday morning and refused the grilled cheese the rest of the day and by Saturday afternoon he was in a full on fit. He cried and screamed for over an hour and while he did that he would bang his head on the floor, the wall, the back of the couch, the cabinets you name it he was doing it. It was like he was in a rage he was so mad. His forehead is pretty banged up and bruised today.

I didn't take him to church this morning since the other children would be eating snacks. While I was sitting in church (I know bad) I texted Justin and said put peanut butter on some vanilla waffers and see if he would like it. He would never try peanut butter in the past. Justin text me back and said he loves it and is licking his fingers. I was so thrilled. This was progress folks. At lunch we gave him a spoon and the jar of peanut butter and he ate several spoon fulls. Tonight for supper I cut out small pieces of bread and put peanut butter on it and he ate 2 quarter size pieces of bread and peanut butter. I feel like this is progress. This is a new food folks.

I took some pictures of our fall decorations today. We are so ready for the season to change. Although our decorations are ready our weather sure isn't cooperating. It is still in the 80's everyday. Justin and Reid went swimming yesterday. I am so ready for cooler weather. I feel like cooler weather means closer to the day we will meet our sweet daughter.

We go back to the doctor a week from tomorrow and we will get to take another look at Meg and make sure nothing new is showing up. I can't wait to see her.

If you look real close at Reid's forehead you can see one of the bruises. From what I can see he has three different bruises on his head and a few knots. So sad.

Bye Sissy

We have been trying to get Reid to talk more, so one of the things we do when we leave the house we ask him to tell Lucy and Sugar bye. He loves his two dogs and he pets them and is so sweet to them. Every morning they are ready to run in his room and look at him through his crib and he just laughs at them.

We think it is so funny that he calls Lucy, Sissy and he calls Sugar, Sug Sug. Tonight when we were leaving for church he was telling them bye. He only told Sissy bye bye tonight, but I hope I can get on video him telling Sug Sug bye too.

The Lion King

We took Reid to his first movie today and he did GREAT!!!!!

I am not a Disney fan, but many years ago I was going to New York and we were going to see this movie on broadway and my friends wanted me to at least watch the movie before seeing the play. Of course I loved the movie and the play was fantastic.

I have seen several Disney movies since having Reid and Lion King is still my very favorite. I am so glad that Reid went to the movies for the first time and he saw my favorite. I was so worried the whole movie if he would sit still long enough or if the sound would be to loud. He loved it and would point at the screen and look at me each time the zebra, elephant or giraffe would come on the screen. I see a trip to the zoo in Reid's future. We took Reid to the Memphis zoo when he was younger, but this time he is ready to see the animals.

I will be 25 weeks on Monday and everything is going great. We are choosing to believe that Meg is fine and we will do two follow up ultra sounds in October. I always look forward to seeing that sweet baby.

Reid had pink eye in both eyes this week, luckily he is a good baby when he is sick and he never missed a beat. The hard part has been trying to put drops in his eyes 4 times a day. I have had to get very creative to do that when I am home alone.

Here are a few pictures of our sweet boy before the movie today.

Cabin Fever/ Labor Day

This week began with me trying to find a condo/hotel or a beach we could do a quick family vacation to. It was very last minute though, but with all that had been going on the past week; I was really wanting to just go somewhere and relax and spend some family time. Everywhere I called was booked and now I am so glad we stayed home and saved our money.

As most of you know Tropical Storm Lee came to our area and we have been in the house since Friday watching it rain and watching the wind blow. Our church was cancelled Sunday so we didn't even get out Sunday. The rain stopped for a little while Sunday morning so we were able to go out in the yard for a bit and let Reid run and Justin picked up all the limbs that were knocked down.

We have watched lots of movies, I have slept a lot. I ended up getting a cold this weekend; another reason why it was good that we didn't go out of town. Justin and Reid played a lot with his cars and made ramps for the cars to jump. They have had a great time.

I told Justin Monday we are going out. I didn't care if it was raining or not I wanted to get out of the house. We ended up going our for lunch and then to several stores where we ended up getting an early start on buying Reid's Christmas. Last year he was so young and our circumstances were so different that we didn't really get Reid much for Christmas.  I am also afraid that something will happen and we won't be able to Christmas shop with me being due during that time.

It was so much fun buying his Christmas stuff and talking about how we were going to do Christmas morning.

When we got home the temps had dropped down to 77 degrees and we were in pure bliss so we stayed outside and let Reid ride his tractor. Reid has never gotten the hang of it till now.  He figured out with his foot how to make it go, but has not got the steering down yet.

Hope everyone had a great Labor Day.

He looks just like his granddaddy in this picture to me. Reid is long over due for a hair cut so this makes him look even more like his granddaddy.

Our God is Greater

I am not crying today because I am sad, I am crying today because I have been reminded how Awesome our God is and he is a healer. As my friend Angela reminded me this morning God doesn't make mistakes and we will love that baby no matter what.

I have been completely overwhelmed at the text and phone calls from friends just letting me know that even today they are still praying for our sweet Meg. At church last night our women's group laid hands on me and prayed for our family and sweet Meg and then after talking to Justin he said his Men's group laid hands on him and prayed for our sweet unborn baby. Grown men crying and praying and like my friend said "That's God". So true and like the song says if our God is for us then who can ever stop us.

Also, after church last night a couple of my friends went over to the Cook's house so we could talk more about the news I had found out and we stayed till almost 1 am just talking and sharing. It is so awesome to have great friends like that who you know will pray for you without ceasing. I love you sweet friends.....
