Christmas 2012

Christmas was spent with all of our family and we had a great time. Despite all the sickness that hit us before and during Christmas we still had a wonderful time. Reid was diagnosed with the croup the week before Christmas and then Meg go it the week of Christmas and she had 102.5 temp. I was so worried about her and then of course Justin and I got sick with bad colds, but we didn't let any of that slow us down.

We spent Christmas in Amory, Hickory Flat and TN. We managed to make the rounds and see everyone. Reid was so excited this year. He was so ready for Santa and to see his cousins Blake, Emily and Sarah Kate.

We went to Granny's and Reid had a blast with all of his cousins and getting his gifts.  We had great food and was so good to see Granny.

Santa Time

After church today we went and hand lunch with Santa. The kids had the best time. It was so nice because we beat the rush and Santa spent a lot of time with us and our friends.

We looked up and Maddie and Reid were in Santa's lap and he was reading to them. It was such a magical time and we made great memories. I am so glad that Reid isn't scared this year and Meg seems to be unphased by Santa. She has the best time.

Reid told Santa he wanted Henry and Emily for Christmas (Trains) and Santa replied I already have it in my bag. I loved it.

When he would laugh he would say Ho Ho Ho......

Starting to look a lot like Christmas

We have had a fun busy December. Reid was in his first performance at church. They sang two Christmas songs, Go Tell it on the Mountain and Away in a Manager. While they sang Away in a Manger all the mama's played handbells. It was a special time. I thought Reid would be nervous, but turns out he was a Ham up there. He waved and hollered out to his daddy "Hey Daddy" and just waived. Everyone laughed. He was not shy at all. He danced and watched all the other children to make sure they were singing.

We had Meg's birthday party and then we went to see Santa. He is really excited about Christmas this year. He loves to see Santa on tv, talk about Santa and is excited about blowing out the candles for Jesus's birthday. He kept telling everyone that it was Meg's birthday and Jesus's birthday.

We took Reid and Meg to see Santa at the mall after Meg's party. I really didn't think Reid would sit in Santa's lap much less talk to him, but he did great. I was shocked and I was even more shocked that Meg did it too. If you look at the pictures you can see Meg wasn't sure at first and then she started smiling.

We also went to church to the Deacon's banquet. It was a fun time and nice to get dressed up.

We took Reid to see Disney on Ice.  He wasn't very sure about it at first. He wanted to go home; I think because it was so loud but once he got use to it he settled down and he would waive at Mickey and Minnie.  Our favorite parts were Cars and Toy Story. We weren't into  Little Mermaid and Tinkerbell.  That was a good reminder that I am a mama of a boy.  We haven't gotten into those movies yet.  Now that we have Meg I am sure that will be coming soon.

We are very excited about Sunday after church we have reservations to have lunch with Santa. I am thinking Reid is going to LOVE it. I can't wait. This is the first year Reid has gotten it and it has been so magical this year to see Christmas through his eyes. He loves going to look at Christmas lights.

I can't wait for Christmas morning.

Thanksgiving 2012

We had a great Thanksgiving this year. This was the first year that Reid and my nephew Blake were of a good age that they could play together. Blake was so sweet to Reid and helpful with everything. Blake brought his old bike over that he had outgrown so that Reid could ride it. Reid didn't quite figure it out but they had a lot of fun together.

Reid loves to watch thomas train wrecks on the Internet and Blake knew enough about the computer to help him. They sat together in the chair for an hour an watched train wrecks. Then they played with the trains the rest of the night. I just loved watching them together. Reid can't wait to go back and see Blake again.

We also went to Tn to see Justin's parents and over to Granny's. We had the best time seeing everyone and Reid did great with Granny and seeing and playing with his cousins. Meg did great when it was time to love on Granny. I know it made Justin so proud.
