Future Golfer

Justin and I both love to play golf. However, that does not mean we are very good at it, but we do love to play. Now that we have a baby we certainly do not get to play as often as we would like. I am hoping that will change next year. Reid will be old enough then to get out and play with us and hopefully mind a little better.

I hope Reid will love to play golf like his mommy and daddy. I often think about on Saturday morning Reid and his daddy leaving to go play golf and have a father son day. Here are a few pictures of Reid's first time learning to play. At this point he would rather pick the golf balls up and play with them instead of swinging the club.

Spring Day with Sprinklers

We had a great day today. We started out by going to church this morning. I wanted to take some pictures of Reid since this is the outfit my friend Pam made for him. I feel like it is ofically Spring here so it was time for him to wear his first Spring outfit. It was 80 degrees here today and this weather has me ready for mine and Justin's get away to the beach in a few more weeks.

One of Reid's new favorite things to do is to put his hands on our face. He will stick his fingers up your nose if you are not careful or he will put his fingers in your eyes. I think he might like this because we have been practicing learning his eyes and nose this week. It was hard to get a picture with him this morning because all he wanted to do was put his hands on my face and then he wanted to kiss. I love that boy.

After nap today we decided to let Reid burn some energy by running through the sprinkler in the back yard. He wasn't real sure about it, but he loves water and he was determined he was going to get wet. I think he will like it much better when it is warmer outside. I wanted to post these pictures since this was the first time Reid got in the sprinkler so I can look back at the end of summer and see if he likes it even more. I think I will get out and play in it also when the temps are 100 like they normally are here in the summer.

Some of his faces in these pictures are priceless. I loved capturing his facial expressions in these pictures.. looking back over these pictures I feel like I could have named this post Granddaddy's twin. Reid is still looking just like his Granddaddy to me.

Happy Birthday

Today is my birthday and I wanted to be a little sad about it for some reason. But, I was able to put things in perspective really quick. When I turned 30, I cried because I was unmarried and had no children and thought now this is not how I had planned 30 would be like. I thought I would be married with children, but God had a better plan for me. So instead of being depressed today I was reminded how blessed I am to have a wonderful husband and an amazing son. God has blessed me more than I could have ever imagined. As I type this I can hear Reid over the monitor talking away and I am again reminded that I have so many blessings in life.

Not only has God blessed me with a wonderful family he has blessed me with some wonderful friends. Some of my friends got together and threw me a small birthday party. We got a sitter and headed over to Kim's house. I had a great time and enjoyed a night out.

From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another. John 1:16

Beach

This is the day which the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 18:24

This is the verse I had on my heart today as I sat at the beach and just marveled at what God made and his beauty. I was so thankful at that moment for my little family and that God has given me the incredible job to be Reid's mommy and Justin's wife. It was a beautiful day here so we decided to take Reid to the beach.

I want Reid to learn how not to throw sand; how to come back when we call him; to know that the ocean is deep and to learn to love sun block. The only three times he got upset today was when we were adding sun screen to him, spanking him for throwing sand and when we had to leave. He loved it and I loved hanging out with my family today.

He loved playing in the sand and then we moved to a shallow part of the ocean where the tide was coming in and out and he loved it. He splashed and played for two hours.

I forgot my camera so I had to use my blackberry so the pictures are not very clear. We want to go again next weekend so I will be sure to bring my camera. We had so much fun.

4 B's

Today was a beautiful day on the coast. We had a great church service this morning. Reid had his best day yet in nursery. I was so glad to see him playing when I checked on him between Sunday School and Church. I thought maybe this was going to be the beginning of him actually enjoying church. We had all planned to go back tonight, but after he refused to take a nap we went outside and this is where the 4b's started and we knew then we were in for the night.

You might be asking what the 4b's were: the first b was balls.. I bought Reid a big red ball from Target and he had the best time outside playing with it. He ran after the ball so much he was all red faced from playing so hard.

The second b was bubbles. He had the best time looking at the bubbles and trying to catch them. I think we are going to have a great time this summer with the bubbles.

The third b is a busted lip. Reid fell while playing outside and busted his lip. He had blood running down his chin, for some reason I stayed very calm about the whole situation. This was Reid's first busted lip and I am proud of the way I handled it.

The 4th b was a bubble bath; he had played so hard I thought he might enjoy his first bubble bath. He had a great time in the tub.

Tonight at 7 he fell asleep in Justin's arms while giving him his milk. He hasn't fallen asleep like that in many months. He normally won't go to sleep unless he is in his bed. He was so exhausted from all the playing and no nap today.

Here are some video's and pictures from our fun time outside today.
