First Boat Ride

This week we headed up to Mimi and Granddaddy's lake house to spend some time out on the lake. We had great weather all weekend. We took Reid out on the boat and he loved it. He wanted to catch the wind with his hands. He hated his life jacket but loved being in the wind and being outside. We put a pool on the boat so he could stay cool and he had the best time splashing and playing.

We had such a good time hanging out with them and Reid had a great time while we were there. Mimi decided to go ahead and give Reid his birthday present early. She gave him a white rocking chair and I loved it. It was nice to have it there so we could take some pictures out on the pier. His Mimi and Granddaddy loved on him all weekend and it was really hard on Mimi when Reid left today. We hope we can see them again soon.

We have a busy week planned.. we are leaving for Gulf Shores on Thursday with our friends Lance, Victoria and their baby Claire. I have alot of unpacking, washing, repacking and shopping to do before Thursday. I hope Reid will enjoy the beach because his parents sure do.

Here are some pictures from our weekend.

Can you imagine looking at a sunset like this everyday?

Enjoy the videos of Reid's first boat ride.

Reid you are 9 months old

Reid we can't believe how fast you are growing. I can't believe today when I left your 9 month doctor appointment we were already scheduling your 1 year appointment. Where did the time go?

You are still the best baby and you continue to make me laugh and smile everyday.

You now have two bottom teeth and you love to try and chew my chin with them.

Went to the doctor today and you are now weighing 24lbs which is in the 90th percentile and you are 29 inches long which is in the 75th percintile. The doctor said you look great and that you are just a growing boy. My new nick name for you is "Juicy" you have the juciest lips and thighs... I just love it

You still prefer to go to bed at 5 each day and you continue to sleep all night. You usually wake up between 6 and 7 each morning.

You don't care much about your paci except when you sleep at night or nap each day.

You are just now getting over your 3rd ear infection.

When you cut your first two teeth you didn't have any trouble with them.

You still don't have a favorite food, but you have been eating sweet potatoes, carrots, green beans, sweet peas, asparagus, avacado and all kinds of fruit. Your newest thing is cottage cheese and you seem to be liking that pretty well. The doctor said it's ok to start feeding you table food.

You are getting to the point now that you don't like for me to leave the room. If you can't see me you start crying; so that is making it hard to get things done during the day.

When I sit in the floor and play with you all you want to do is climb all over me and try to eat my face.

His first word is da da da.

You went swimming for the first time last week and you loved it. I am so glad you were not afraid of the water. Next week you will take your first boat ride with Mimi and Granddaddy and then after that you will make your first trip to the beach.

We love you so much

Mother's Day/Baby Dedication

Today (Sunday) was such a special day. It is a day I will never forget. Alot of you do not know, but when I was 30 years old I had some female problems and my doctor told me that I would probably never be able to have a baby. At that time I was single and I don't think the magnitude of what he told me really sank in. However, when I met Justin and I realized this is the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with; it became something I thought about almost every day. Would I be able to have a child, at the time my mother was never honest with me about it. She always told me that she thought I wouldn't have any trouble and that when the time was right I would have a baby. My journey to having this baby wasn't the easiest, but after about 6 months and some help from some fertility meds I became pregnant. That is when my mom told me "I never thought you would become pregnant". Thank you Jesus for this wonderful baby boy I have and that I was chosen to be his mommy.

So for someone that wasn't sure if she would ever become a mother today was very special and my wonderful husband and in-laws made it very special for me. I know it is one I will never forget.

When I woke up the first thing I wanted to do was get Reid out of his crib. I wanted to feel his arms around my neck and get sweet kisses from him. When I came out of his room Justin had wonderful presents for me. One of the cards he gave me was from Reid and he even wrote his letters backwards like a child would do and that made me laugh. It was really sweet and very thoughtful.

Sunday just wasn't Mother's day it was also the day that I had been planning for over a year that I would dedicate Reid to the Lord. Victoria and I were both pregnant last Mother's day and we both knew that today would be the day that we would dedicate both our children to the Lord.

I was worried Reid would be very shy and get upset, but Reid did great. He even entertained us while we were on the stage. He wasn't bothered at all. Enjoy the pictures and video below of our special day. Side note of course on one of the most special days for me; my hair did terrible and my outfit was awful, but you know what who cares right because at the end of the day it's not even about that.

After church we all came home where I had prepared lunch for us and then Justin and I headed outside to the pool. We were able to have a relaxing afternoon while the in-laws took care of Reid. Later that day Justin and I had a date night. We went to Outback and to the movie. We had a great day and thank you again to Justin and his parents for making it a very special and wonderful day.

This first picture was first thing Sunday morning; I was watching as Reid got his card and gift from his Kay-K and Pop for his baby dedication.

Enjoy the dedication video.. thank you Jesus Reid did not get upset.

Water Baby

We are having a great weekend here at the Ormon house. Justin's parents are here in town and we have been very spoiled. They take great care of Reid and us while they are here.

While they were here we decided it was time Reid went swimming. He had a great time and he thought it was alot of fun. I am so glad he doesn't seem to be afraid of the water.

I have a feeling we will be spending our summer in the swimming pool. Enjoy the video and the pictures below.
