New First's for Reid

The weekend here on the coast started out very rainy, but ended with great weather and time with friends.

Saturday night we went and visited Lance, Victoria and Claire it had been awhile since we were all able to hang out. We had a nice time and it was fun that the babies can finally sit in the floor and play together. Claire is only 6 months old but she is sitting up very good. We only had two problems while we were there.. the first one was their 100 lb lab named Otis. Otis is blind and each time he would come near Reid; Reid would freak out. He would start crying and wanted to get away as fast as possible. Reid loves our dogs, but I guess I would be scared also if a big lab was coming up to me too. The second problem we had was every toy that Claire picked up to play with Reid tried to take it from her. Of course Claire is young enough still that she didn't care, but I can see a problem with this in the future. Reid will need to learn to share.

Sunday we went to church and as we came down from Sunday School we went to check on Reid and they had him out in the hall and he was crying. They said he has been crying the whole time you have been gone. I asked did you give him the bottle and they said yes, but the bottle was clear. I thought for a second and said did you not put the formula in the bottle and they said NO.. we didn't realize the formula wasn't mixed with it. I of course got very upset thinking oh my goodness they just fed Reid a whole bottle of water. What will this do to him? Will he be ok? Ugh I was so upset. I got Reid to stop crying and Justin and I decided we would just keep Reid with us and take him into the balcony for church. Reid had the best time listening to the music and he did very well during the sermon also.

After church we went to see Scott, Angela and Isabel for lunch. Angela made a wonderful meal and we had a great time visiting with them. Reid was able to pet Isabel's rabbit named Easter. He was not afraid at all. I wondered if he thought it was Lucy since the rabbit is solid white. Reid also swung in Isabel's swing for the first time. He liked it for about 3 minutes and then he decided he wasn't so sure about it.

After Reid woke up from his nap he floated on the raft with me in the swimming pool and he loved it. He wanted to get in the water so bad, but it is still too cold for him. I hope the weather will be good next weekend and Reid can get in his kiddie pool. I think he is going to love it.

The most exciting first is that Reid has a tooth that has finally broke the skin. He is 8 1/2 months old and he is doing wonderful. The only thing I have noticed is that he bites on his lip alot. Other than that he has not acted like the tooth has bothered him at all.

Reid is saying da da more and more and of course Justin just loves it. Enjoy the video of our sweet baby saying da da.
